Butane Hash Oils and CO2 Extracted Oils – Real Simple

01 Apr Butane Hash Oils and CO2 Extracted Oils – Real Simple

Let’s get you high and let’s not be complicated about it. I’m going to address this in the least “sciency” way possible. You’re not here to pass a college chemistry class and a search of oils gives you exactly that.

BHO and CO2 Extractions are terms that are thrown around but don’t provide much explanation.

Butane Hash Oil

Butane Hash Oil, BHO, is pretty much pure THC. The process is complicated but simply put, Butane is pushed through Marijuana and crystals are created that are composed of Butane and THC. This is then put in a vacuum oven to remove the excess Butane leaving the THC in the form of wax, budder, shatter, or crumble.

Might I add that this should not be attempted at home. There have been reported incidents due to the flammable nature of Butane.

CO2 Extracted Oils

CO2 Extraction is another method of turning Marijuana flowers into a wax or oil. This is done by pressurizing the CO2 and passing it through Cannabis, allowing it to grab the oils, waxes, and other plant matter.

This method is safer to make and used in many products available today.

Incase you are a Chemist and are just dying to see Chemical Compounds, feel free to use Google. For the rest of us, this was BHO and CO2 Extraction in a nutshell.
